CAPPADOCIA KINGDOM

[CAPP081] Camissares (of Caria a region in western Anatolia), Satrap [provincial governor] of a part of Cilia bordering on Cappadocia. He married either a Scythian or a Paphlagonian woman. He was killed in the war fighting on behalf of his overlord King Artaxerxes II of Persia against the Cadusii (385BCE).

[CAPP091] Damatames (born in Caria), a General, then Satrap of Cappadocia (385-362BCE). He was assassinated 362BCE.

[CAPP102] Holophernes (younger son of Damatames).

[CAPP111] Ariarathes II (eldest son of Holophernes). He was later adopted by his father's elder brother  Ariamnes I, who was Satrap of Cappadocia (331-322BCE). Ariathenes was Satrap of Cappadocia, but fled into Armenia after his uncle's assassination. He later recovered Cappadocia, and became King of Cappadocia (301-280BCE).

[CAPP131] Ariarathes III, King of Cappadocia (possibly 262-220BCE), married [SYRI123] Stratonice (daughter of King Antiochus II of Syria, see SYRIA KINGDOM).

[CAPP141] Ariarathes IV eusebes [pious] (son of Ariarathes III & Stratonice), King of Cappadocia (220-163BCE). He married [SYRI144] Antiochis (daughter of King Antiochus III the great of Syria).

[CAPP151] Ariarathes V eusebes philopator (son of Ariarathes IV), King of Cappadocia (163-130BCE).

[CAPP162] Princess Stratonice (daughter of Ariarathes) married [MITH169] King Mithridates VI of Pontus (see PONTUS KINGDOM).

[CAPK421] Archelaos (born c.120BCE) married [MITH174] --- (daughter of King Mithridates VI & his sister Laodice, see PONTUS KINGDOM).

[CALK431] Archelaos (born c.100BCE) married 1. ---; then 2. Berenice IV of Egypt.

[CAPK441] Archelaos (born c.75BCE, daughter of Archelaos & his first unnamed wife) married Glaphyra.

[CAPK451] Archelaos (born c.50BCE), King of Cappadocia, married [NYSA188] Queen Pythadoris of Pontus & Bosphorus (daughter of [NYSA171] Prince Pythodorus of Tralles, see NYSA).

[CAPK462] Princess Glaphyra (born c.30BCE, daughter of Archelaos) married 1. King Juba II of Mauretania (see MAURETANIA), divorced; then 2. [JUDE461] Alexander II of Judea (see JUDEA); then 3. Archelaos of Judea.
