HARDIE

[HRDY581] Thomas Hardie m. Margret Wadeson
. [HRDY591] Robert Hardie m. ?
. [HRDY602] Julyan Hardie m. [GRNT601] Edward Garnett

[HRDY581] Thomas Hardie married (at Kirkby Lonsdale, 10th June 1554) Margret Wadeson. They had at least two children baptised at Kirkby Lonsdale as follows;

[HRDY591] Robert Hardie (born 1563) married (at Kirkby Lonsdale, 2nd February 1588-89) --- [name omitted in register]. They had at least one child baptised at Kirkby Lonsdale as follows:

Robert Hardie was buried at Kirkby Lonsdale (15th July 1601). In "The Hardys of Barbon and some other Westmorland statesmen: their kith, kin and childer" (Charles Frederick Hardy, 1913), there is a reference to the burial of Robert Hardy the younger of Barbon (1601), whose effects were worth 60 but seems to have left no will. The date of burial is not the same, and Robert the younger does not agree with Robert being son of Thomas. This difficulty has not been resolved.

Later, --- (widow of Robert Hardie) was buried at Kirkby Lonsdale (7th June 1605). The dating agrees with the will of Agnes Hardy (dated 28th May 1605), in which the beneficiaries include her sons John and William, daughters Isabel and Elizabeth, and son-in-law Richard Segswicke.

Unfortunately, there were seven Robert Hardie's alone born in the parish of Kirkby Lonsdale between 1563 and 1619, making it virtually impossible to sort out the ancestry of Julyan, described next.

[HRDY602] Julyan Hardie (born 1596) married (at Kirkby Lonsdale, 11th April 1619) [GRNT601] Edward Garnett (born 1593, see GARNETT).
