[MARE401] Sir William de la Mare (born c.1175), of Ashtead and Mitcham (Surrey), married (c.1202) Basile.

[MARE411] Henry de la Mare (born c.1205), of Ashtead, Royal Justice, married 1. ---; then 2. (c.1250) [NEVL412] Joan de Neville (daughter of John de Neville, see NEVILLE). He died 1257, and Joan afterwards married 2. (before 1260) Walter de la Hyde.

Walter de la Hyde and Joan (as wards of Joan's daughter Maud) held in her name Ashstead Manor, but were evicted by Maud and her husband Sir Piers (1260). Walter and Joan later had a daughter Hawise (who married Robert le Veel).

[MARE422] Maud de la Mare (born c.1252, daughter & heir of Henry & Joan, and co-heiress [with her half-sister Hawise] of Joan) married [MONF491] Sir Piers (see MONTFORT).
