NANTES COUNTY

[NANT311] Matuedo I (of unknown origin) married [RENN312] --- (daughter of [RENN301] DUKE ALAIN I, see HOUSE OF RENNES), Count of Porhoet. After the Danes invaded Brittany (919), Matuedo fled to England.

[NANT321] Alain II barbetorte, Count of Vannes & Nantes (936), DUKE OF BRITTANY (936-52), married 1. (943) Roscille (daughter of  Count Fulk le roux of Anjou); then 2. (before 951) Gerberga (daughter of Count Thibaut de Blois, see CHAMPAGNE (HOUSE OF BLOIS) COUNTY). Alain also had a mistress, Judith. Also, at some point Gerberga married Count Fulk II le bon, see ANJOU COUNTY for further comments. He died 952.

[NANT331] Hoel de Nantes (born c.936, illegitimate son of Alain & his mistress Judith) was Count of Nantes. He was killed in 981.

[NANT341] Judicael (born 970), Count of Nantes, married [MAI2302] Melisende (daughter of Count of Hughes III, see MAINE COUNTY). He died 1037.

[NANT352] Judith de Nantes (born c.988, daughter of Judicael) married [CORN351] Count Alain III (see BRITTANY (HOUSE OF CORNOUAILLE) KINGDOM).
