[NTHM331] Waltheof  became 1st Earl of Northampton (1065-76) and 1st Earl of Huntingdon, when Tostig was banished.

[SLIZ361] Simon de St. Liz married (probably 1090) [NTHM349] Maud (eldest daughter of Earl Waltheof, see above) and thereby became 2nd Earl of Northampton (1090-1111). He was a benefactor to Daventry Priory, and probably built St. Sepulchre's, Northampton, (c.1108). Afterwards Maud married King David I of Scotland (see below).

[SLIZ371] Simon de St. Liz (born c.1098, son of Simon), 5th Earl of Northampton (1138-53), married [BEAM377] Isabel (born c.1121, daughter of  Robert (see LEICESTER (BEAUMONT) EARLDOM).

[CANM431] King David I married (1113)  [NTHM349] Maud, widow of Simon de St. Liz (see above), and became 3rd Earl of Huntingdon (1111-36).
