The region was occupied by Western Slavic tribes from 7th to 12th Centuries. It was conquered in the late 12th Century by DUKE HEINRICH XII the lion of SAXONY & BAVARIA, grandson of [ESTB381] DUKE HEINRICH IX OF BAVARIA

[OBOT201] Vislas I, 1st King of the Obotrites, married [LOMG202] Petrussa of the Lombards (see EARLY LOMBARDS). He died 700.

[OBOT211] Aribert I, Prince of the Obotrites, married Mandana of the Obotrites, and died 724.

[OBOT221] Billung I, Prince of the Obotrites, married Hildegarde.

[OBOT231] Billung II, Prince of the Obotrites, married Jutta of the Obotrites, and died 798.

[OBOT241] Mieceslas I, Prince of the Obotrites, married Antonia of the Obotrites, and died 811.

[OBOT251] Rodigastus, Prince of the Obotrites, died 840.

[OBOT261] Mistui I, Prince of the Obotrites, died 869.

[OBOT271] Mieceslas II, Prince of the Obotrites, married 1. ---; then 2. --- (daughter of Prince Eric of Pluffow).

[OBOT281] Mistui II (born c.919), Prince of the Obotrites, became a Christian (973), and died c.999.

[OBOT291] Mieceslas III, Prince of the Obotrites, married Sophia.

[OBOT302] Astrid (daughter of Mieceslas) married [SWED309] King Olaf I Eiriksson skotkonung (see SWEDEN KINGDOM).
