In the time of King Henry I (died 1135) South Pool Manor, Devon, was held by Nicholas Pola, who was (perhaps) the grandson of the "William" who was sub-tenant at the Domesday Survey at this manor to Judichael of Totnes. This "William" also held nearby Leigh in Harberton, and Combe in South Pool.
