[RUSS491] James Russell of Strensham married Jane. They had two children:

John, died without issue;

[RUSS501] Nicholas, see later.

James purchased Strensham Manor from Godfrey de Auno (1299), and died probably 1312.

[RUSS501] Nicholas Russell of Strensham succeeded to Strensham Manor (1312). He married [GRIN502] Agnes (daughter of John Grindon of Gloucestershire). They possibly had the following children:

Edmund;

John (died 1349);

[RUSS511] Robert, see later;

Thomas;

Margaret;

Christian.

Nicholas died c.1337.

[RUSS511] Robert Russell (born c.1319, 3rd son of Nicholas) of Strensham married [VAMP512] Katherine (daughter of John Vampage, see VAMPAGE). They had one child:

Robert succeeded to Strensham Manor after his elder brother John died (1349). Robert died before 1376.

[RUSS521] Sir John Russell of Strensham married 1. Anne/Agnes (daughter & heir of --- Planches), by whom he had five children:

Joan, married 1. Thomas Quartermain, then 2. John Credy;

William, married Agnes Haddington;

Margarett, married Sir Raffe Rochford;

[RUSS532] Elizabeth,  married her step-brother [WING532] Sir Robert (see WINGFIELD);

John, was a Sergeant at Law.

John succeeded to Strensham Manor (before 1376). He was Master of the Horse to King Richard II. After Agnes died, John married 2. (after 1389) Margaret (widow of Sir John Wingfield, see WINGFIELD, and daughter of Sir Hugh, see HASTINGS BARONY). Margaret died 1396, and John then married 3. Elizabeth de la Plaunche. Sir John died at Letheringham (Suffolk) (1405).
